This image illustrates the stunning contrast between the old and new in downtown Toronto. In the forefront of the image is the iconic Gooderham building, also known as the Flatiron building (designed by architect David Roberts Jr. and erected in 1882) which is a historic office building at 49 Wellington Street East in Toronto. The building is located on the eastern edge of the city's Financial District where it is wedged between Front Street and Wellington generating an amazing view of the building at the triangular intersection. The building was declared a historic site under the Ontario Heritage Act in 1975. The Gooderham building is one of Toronto's finest representations of the combination of architecture and art. In contrast to this historic building, this image also depicts the towering skyscrapers of the Financial District as well as the CN Tower in the top left-hand corner. The nightlife light and speed of the city are reflected in the blurred lines of the photography perfectly
