Game Six was nerve-racking and exciting all in one. With Maple Leafs square JAM PACKED and the rest of Leafs Nation glued to their screens, we were all going through it together. While watching Tavares sneak around the back of the net and transition the puck to his backhand, all of us rose to our feet, releasing the loudest cheers once we realized it was the series-win-clinching goal.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have now earned a series-clinching win against 17 different franchises (including defunct and non-NHL teams). The only clubs with more are the Canadiens (25), Red Wings (22), Rangers (22), Blackhawks (20), Avalanche (19), Bruins (18), and Penguins (18).

For the first time in NHL history, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers will play each other in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Maple Leafs [50-21-11], the No. 2 team from the Atlantic Division, will have home-ice advantage against the Panthers (42-42-8), the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference.

John Tavares - Johnnnnnny Toronto!
John Tavares [Frameworth Exclusive] ended the Maple Leafs' 19-year drought with an overtime goal, officially sending Toronto to the second round for the first time since 2004. Fun Fact - this is NOT Tavares' first OT-winning series-clinching goal. On 4/25/16 John Tavares scored the OT winner in Game 6 to help the Islanders win their first playoff series since 1993.
x
Mitch Marner - Magic Mitts!
Mitch Marner [Frameworth Exclusive] led the Toronto Maple Leafs' offence with an impressive 11 points in six games (2G, 9A). Fun Fact - with Marner's two assists in Game 4, he officially tied for the fastest to 10 points in a single playoff year among active players!
x
Morgan Rielly - MVP!
Morgan Rielly [Frameworth Exclusive] is the longest-tenured Maple Leaf and led the teams' defencemen with 8 points (3G, 5A) in Round 1's six games. Without a doubt, Rielly left EVERYTHING on the ice against the Lightning and we couldn't imagine the emotions he felt while watching Tavares' OT game-winning goal cross the line.
