Back in June, Hockey Canada invited 100 players to participate in Canada’s National Under-17 Development Camp in Calgary, AB. Among these 100 players is Erie Otter and Frameworth Exclusive, Malcolm Spence.
The Under-17 Development Camp, which runs from July 10-16, begins the process of player evaluation to build out Canada's National Team for the 2022 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in November. Spence represents one of the 40 OHL players selected for the Development Camp.
Malcolm Spence, the second overall pick in the 2022 Priority Selection, was a highly-touted prospect coming out of his time with the Mississauga Senators U16 AAA of the Greater Toronto Hockey League. In his last season in the GTHL, where he was named Player of the Year, Spence had a two-point-per-game average season with 56 points (29G+27A) in 28 games. During the OHL Cup, Spence would grab an additional 13 points (6G+7A) in seven games enroute to the Senators’ OHL Cup Championship – and being named to the OHL Cup All-Star Team.
